Despite the forecast for rain today, Edgewater College hosted Aorere College under clear blue skies with the boys getting to play on a top notch field.
Despite this being an away game, the hosts requested Aorere College put the Brown Brother trophy up for grabs this week - a challenge the Aorere team were happy to take up.
The game was played at speed and high intensity throughout with excellent ball skills being shown by both sides.
Edgewater keep the pressure up right down to the final whistle putting the final points of the board.
Aorere showed well disciplined team work is a key game winning strategy, both on and off the field as their supporters mirrored the discipline on the side line also with their hearty cheering for both sides.
Final score was 35-13 to Aorere.
Parents player of the day was extremely hard to pick this week with several of the boys playing such outstanding rugby today - Mose Wilson took home the trophy today for his determined play throughout the match, a consistant player all season.
The team ethic shown throughout this 2013 season has proven how a supportive partnership between players, team management and supporters can build a positive culture across the board.
The Aorere team played with heart and passion showing themselves to be living the values of the Brown Brother Trophy, proving to all they are worthy guardians.
The trophy is on the line again next week with the much awaited top of the table clash with Aorere (having taken out Pool B) playing against Dilworth College who came top of Pool A in the first round on their home turf.
